What is a Rechtswinkel?

A Rechtswinkel is a legal aid centre that offers free legal advice in various fields of law. Rechtswinkel Migranten specialises in regular immigration law. Our volunteers are ambitious law students who volunteer to gain practical experience while applying their acquired knowledge.

Does the Rechtswinkel advise on asylum law?

No. Immigration law consists of regular immigration law and asylum law. We only advise on regular immigration law. If you have questions about asylum law, we can refer you to our partners such as Vluchtelingenwerk and ASKV.

Do I need to make an appointment?

Due to the Corona pandemic, we currently do not have walk-in consulting hours. For help at our office you need to make an appointment. You can do this via the contact form or by leaving us a voicemail.

Does Rechtswinkel Migranten charge costs for the advice?

The Rechtswinkel does not charge for the advice given. If you are satisfied with our service you can make a small donation. All contributions are welcome on our account number NL74INGB0005649520 on behalf of Stichting Rechtswinkel Migranten.

How long do I have to wait for advice?

We try to contact you within 5 working days after the next consultation. In complicated cases, we will discuss with you how long it may take. In certain very complicated or urgent cases, you may be referred to a third party such as a lawyer.
